For International Women's Day, as part of a non-profit project alongside other female artists, I created an image for the United Nations that celebrates women. I chose to represent a free woman surrounded by nothing but her strong self and the color red. This is a warm color that is associated with our physical needs and our will to survive, with power and courage. Love and joy. But it is also the color of anger and violence. Us, women, are constantly fighting a battle, and our choices are relentlessly taken away from us, undermined or undervalued. This needs to change. Our bodies, our minds, our rights, our choices. Let's stand together to fight for equality. "I raise up my voice—not so I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard".
